![]() I immediately got those and I’m already thinking of how to style them for the show.ĭefinitely, vintage. I know Puppets & Puppets is coming and I’m obsessed with those cheese wedge shoes. If I’m going to a show and it’s for somebody that I know I will wear something from that brand, but it’s not straight from the runway or a full look or anything like that. And, you know, like great tights, long sleeve shirts, and turtlenecks that I can wear under just about any kind of big fashion piece. So combat boots are always good-or Oxfords. What’s so hard about fashion week is you get dressed up and then you go outside and if it’s winter it’s freezing. I don’t understand buying things, and not wearing them.Ĭombat boots. I dress up a majority of the time and I feel so much better when I’m wearing real clothes. I’m in Atlanta, people ask me, are you going somewhere? And I’m just like, I’m just going to work. I don’t base it off of anything and just my gut feeling. So my wardrobe is a bit all over the place. But for the most part, I wear clothing as a kind of armor. You know, the clothes that I have, it’s kind of a wide variety. I feel sometimes that I can be a bit intimidated by accessories and that’s definitely one of my goals to incorporate more this season.Įverything I wear, everything that I own, I base off of intuition. So, when fashion week comes along, I’m like here’s all that stuff that I never wore because I was waiting for the day to wear it. I have this tendency to sort of save clothing for the perfect moment, but then that perfect moment never comes. I think it’s more pre-loved vintage and maybe stuff that I bought when it was new-season at the time. I think it’s so important to have boots because you’re going from show to show or from show to event and I really like a comfortable shoe that is elevated and sexy. I always bring my chain with me everywhere and a good pair of boots. I always have my accessories like my Salem gold chain necklace. What is a key must-have in your fashion week styling? And if I’m being dressed by a designer, like I was with Tory Burch in February, I will try to go for something out of the box and something that I don’t have access to in my normal closet, because it’s an opportunity for me to like experiment. I'm conventionally skinny, but for a model I’m a little shorter with being 5’6. I would say the only thing representative of my fashion week style is that I tend to still dress for my body type. There’s endless acceptance and opportunities for people to just style anything they want and that's what I find most interesting. I’m just really excited to see that there’s a space for people to wear whatever they want and we’re breaking down barriers of what’s expected in the fashion world. So for some outfits, I feel like I look really good bare-faced with my hair down really curly, or sometimes it's a bit more elegant and I put lipstick on and I approach it energetically.Ĭan you name an item you’re excited to style this upcoming season? It’s more about the overall energy and how I feel that day, and some days I want to play around with my makeup too. But when I approach an outfit, it’s not necessarily even about the piece. When I accessorize, that feels like a second step to building to see how I want to make it a little more interesting, or add my flair to it. I like to start with the main piece, whether it’s a pant or a shirt, so generally the clothes. But when you’re going to the shows, you end up wearing a mix of the pieces that the designers that you’re sitting for have, and it’s really fun to mix the two because I think the most interesting outfits come from a mixture of old and new.ĭo you focus more on accessories or the clothes when picking your fashion week outfits? So when I’m actually shopping, that’s definitely where I lean. It’s really interesting because we get these one-of-a-kind pieces and it’s also good for the environment. I would say those things for sure.ĭoes your fashion month wardrobe consist more of pre-loved pieces, or newer in-season pieces? I have three rings and necklaces that I always wear and they make me feel very grounded and like myself every time I put on an outfit. There’s no real key piece, but I am always wearing my jewelry.
